Bradford's Colin Todd on Stewart's Departure to QPR

Bradford Official Site - Damion Stewart agrees terms with QPR

Damion Stewart will play his last game for Bradford City on Saturday with the news that the 25-year old Jamaican has agreed a three-year contract with Championship side Queens Park Rangers. This is subject to him obtaining an extension to his work permit and he will sign on 1 July.
City manager Colin Todd said: "We were powerless as Damion is not our player, he has been with us on loan from Harbour View.
"Everything has been agreed between the player and his agent along with the other two clubs
. We could not compete as I understand there was a six-figure transfer fee involved.
"It is a blow. We tried to get him back on another year's loan but he obviously wanted the security elsewhere.
"I am sorry to see him go as he has been a credit to the club. I pride myself on having given him the opportunity after we saw him in action only once at Darlington pre-season and brought him over from Jamaica for the season.
"Who knows, things could have been different for him had Andrew Taylor not returned to Middlesbrough in January but he has done well for himself and others have tracked him since.
"From what I have been told, there were several other clubs interested as well."
Talking to the QPR website Stewart said: "I am delighted to have joined QPR. I enjoyed my time at Bradford but when the chance came up to play for a club in the Championship for a big club like QPR it was an easy decision to make."
