QPR Defender Jon Munday Achieves His First Goal

-
Congratulations to QPR's teenage defender, Jon Munday, who's currently on loan at Hendon (and has been for the past month). On Saturday, playing in his fourth game for Hendon, Munday scored his first goal for the club. "..Hendon put in an excellent performance this afternoon to win 3-1 at fellow strugglers Carshalton Athletic. The Greens took the lead in the 7th minute when Jon Munday fired the ball home for his first goal for the club. Hendon

HAPPY MUNDAY -Rangers young-gun Jon Munday has put pen to paper on a one year professional contract with the club.
The 18 year-old defender - who was an unused substitute in Rangers' 3-2 defeat to Norwich City at Carrow Road on Easter Monday - signed on the dotted line at Loftus Road on Tuesday afternoon.
"It's a dream come true,'' said Munday.
"I've achieved my dream in life and now I'm just looking to the future.
"It came as a bit of a surprise to be honest, but I'd like to think it's my reward for all the hard work I've put in during the last few years.
"To be named on the bench on Monday was unbelievable and although the result didn't go our way, it was a day I'll remember for the rest of my life.''
Munday has always been earmarked for a 'bright' future.
His father Mike is a senior lecturer in the pharmaceutical bio-chemistry department at the University of London, while Jon himself is currently studying A-levels in Chemistry, Mathematics and Physical Education
But for the time being, he's more than happy to let his football do the talking.
"Fingers crossed I'll be involved with the first team between now and the end of the season and hopefully next year will be the same.
"Gary's a top manager and is willing to give youth a chance which is fantastic.
"We're all hoping to end the season on a high and I'd love to be part of it.''
