Ranger Hero Frank Sibley's Recent Birthday

-
Missed by this blog: Frank Sibley recently entered his Sixtieth Year, celebrating his 59th birthday - December 4, 1947.

Frank Sibley...QPR's youngest-ever player, who made his first team debut at 15 in February 1963 in the League Cup against Aldershot. He also played 3 times that season in the league. (Also in the team that day that Sibley made his debut: Peter Springett, Mike Keen and Brian Bedford, Pat and Ray Brady)

Sibley played in QPR's 1967 League Cup Winners Team at Wembley...Went on the England U-21 Tour, but didn't play. And then a series of injuries..Sadly his career ended at 23. Went on to be coach under Gordon Jago and Dave Sexton...At 29, Sibley became QPR's youngest-ever manager, replacing Dave Sexton. After keeping QPR up the next year, Sibley resigned. He returned as coach under Terry Venables. For six months was acting manager after Alan Mullery was axed (and again kept us up). Sibley returned yet again as coach, finally resigning a few years back...He is or was Chief Scout at Watford.
