QPR's Eventful Week in Review

Off the field: an eventful week regarding QPR fiances with an AGM, a threatened winding up order and the news that the owners are prepared to sell. On the field: The new League fixtures were published, along with the first round draw for the Carling Cup.

Last weekend, the club sent out a "confidential" email to representatives of fan groups saying the club was facing a winding up order because of unpaid taxes (VAT). But that fans shouldn't worry. Everything was under control. Then on Sunday, Chairman Paladini went public "Paladini Reassures QPR Fans"

Former Liverpool Player, Ronny Rosenthal being named as one one of the potential buyers.

And the week ended with the Annual General Meeting (AGM) with Accounts for Year Ending May 31, 2006 showing a loss of approaching 3.5 million pounds.

Almost a week after messageboard rumours about a certain staff change, on Friday, the club announced that former QPR Player, Paul Parker was announced: "The Club are delighted to announce the temporary appointment of Paul Parker as Commercial & Communication Director.
Parker...will oversee the Commercial department, as well as providing assistance to the Public Relations team." Thus far the club have not announced any departures, and their online Staff Directory remains unchanged.

After reports in the Sunday Mirror about Colchester's Mick Harford possibly coming to QPR, came an announcement on the QPR and Colchester messsageboards that the club had been given permission to talk to Colchester coach, Mick Harford.

The New Championship FIxtures Came out: Starting off with a trip to newly-promoted/recent rivals, Bristol City.

The First Round draw for the Carling Cup was made: QPR will play Orient at Loftus Road, week of August 13.

The only signing of the week: QPR defender and Captain, Marcus Bignot signed a new one year contract.

There were unsettling reports in a number of media sites that Crystal Palace were also interested in Chelsea's Jimmy Smith.

The possible move of QPR's Tommy Doherty to Wycombe depends on finances. Chairman Paladini demanding a fee. Although the exact amount being demanded is disputed by Wycombe.
