Millwall Executive Deputy Chairman Heather Rabbatts has confirmed that the interviewing process for the managerial vacancy is well underway, but the Board are not under pressure to make a rushed appointment.
"Naturally, everybody would like this matter resolved as quickly as possible" she stated, "but as we saw on Saturday, the players are totally committed to playing for Richard Shaw and Colin West in the interim, and we have no concerns if they remain in charge of team affairs for another week or two if necessary.
It is true that one of the candidates we interviewed was Kenny Jackett who is currently coaching at Manchester City, but he has subsequently communicated to us that he does not after all wish to be considered for the position.
We have, however, a number of other very strong candidates in mind and will continue to conduct our selection process with due care.
Inevitably, several names have been linked with the post in the press, but at this stage we are not in a position to confirm or deny rumours.
We will keep our supporters fully updated with our progress as soon as we have any further concrete news for them." Millwall

SPORTING LIFE - JACKETT RULES OUT LIONS POST
Manchester City reserve-team boss Kenny Jackett has pulled out of the running for the vacant Millwall job.
The former Swansea manager was rumoured to have already been appointed as the Lions boss before the club rubbished reports and stated they will be taking their time on appointing a successor for Willie Donachie.
But now the former Swansea boss has completely ruled himself out of contention following Donachie's departure last week.
Jackett is currently working with the Manchester City first team, while Sven-Goran Eriksson's assistant Hans Backe is absent on compassionate grounds Sporting Life
