"Dowie Heads to QPR"

-
It certainly appears that one-time QPR player and coach and briefly QPR caretaker manager, Iain Dowie will be QPR's latest manager (and hopefully will have a far more succcesful QPR career than did the last QPR manager to have also managed Crystal Palace and Charlton: Alan Mullery!) Dowie will be QPR's 9th manager along with 3 additional caretaker managers, including himself, to have managed the club since QPR's relegation from the premiership just over a decade ago (1996) Of course, "it ain't over till it's over." So until there's an actual official announcement, one can still dream of Mourinho!

The Sun: - BBC Gossip "Iain Dowie will be named as QPR's new manager before the end of the week, his fourth club in two years. (Sun)"
BBC Gossip

[Supposedly today's Telegraph says Dowie will be named today! And yet another messageboard thread is reporting today that it's a done deal and will be announced Thursday]

The Times - Dowie heads to QPR
"Iain Dowie is expected to be named as the new manager of Queens Park Rangers on Thursday after talks with the Coca-Cola Championship club at the weekend. He will succeed Luigi De Canio, who left the club last week. Dowie, who was sacked by Coventry City in February, is likely to have Tim Flowers as his No2. Rumours circulated last week that Zinédine Zidane was in line for the job at Loftus Road." The Times

IAIN DOWIE PROFILES & STATS
Assuming QPR's new manager is Iain Dowie, Dowie will become the second QPR manager to have also managed Charlton and Crystal Palace. (The first of course was Alan Mullery!). Think of him having been a manager for a long time, but in reality he's only 43. Previously managed Oldham, Crystal Palace, Charlton and Coventry (the last two clubs from where he was fired after brief managerial sojourns).
