- Queens Park Rangers Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of John Gorman as the Club's new Assistant Manager.
- The 59 year-old has signed a two-year deal to work alongside Manager Jim Magilton and brings with him a wealth of experience.
- Gorman, who began his playing career at Celtic before going on to represent, amongst others, Carlisle United and Tottenham Hotspur, has coached at the very highest level, having assisted former England Manager Glenn Hoddle between 1996 and 1999.
- Prior to that appointment he was No.2 at Swindon Town.
- Following his spell with the national side, Gorman coached at Reading, Southampton, Spurs and Gillingham.
- Gorman has also enjoyed managerial spells with Swindon, Wycombe Wanderers, Northampton Town and the Saints.
- More recently, he was Chief Scout with Southampton, before being named as Magilton's assistant at Ipswich Town in December 2008.
- Speaking exclusively to www.qpr.co.uk, the R's new Assistant Manager said: "I am honoured at being given this exciting opportunity and I thank the Club's management for choosing me.
- "QPR has plenty of history and a big following. I know most of the players and have great respect for them. I rate them highly and look forward to working with such good players.
- "The expectations are high and I will do my very best to meet them, assisting Jim and working hard to have our best shot at getting the Club promoted." QPR
