R's gaffer praises effort and impact of Taarabt at West Brom
...ADEL Taarabt made it two stunning goals in as many games on
Saturday, and his efforts at West Brom have earned the praise of manager
Mark Hughes.
The Moroccan followed up on his 25-yard strike
against West Ham on Monday by netting a sensational volley at the
Hawthorns to get QPR back into the game just before the interval after
the Baggies had stormed into a two-goal lead.
It wasn’t enough to
turn the game in Rangers’ favour but gaffer Mark Hughes was keen to
praise the effort and impact of his No.10, despite the 3-2 loss.
"I thought Adel was excellent for us,” Hughes told www.qpr.co.uk
“He came back against West Ham and performed really well from the
bench, so he fully-merited his place in the starting line-up on
Saturday.
“He was one of the few bright sparks for us, along with Ryan Nelsen who I thought was absolutely outstanding.
“We
need everybody to put in performances which will allow us to get
results. At the moment we haven’t got that platform to build upon.”
With
no fixture for two weeks owing to the international break, Hughes says
he and his management team are keen to spend quality time with the
squad.
“We haven’t got many players away during this break so we
will make sure that we put the work in on the training pitch and
re-emphasise the fundamentals which we have been talking about for the
last few weeks,” he said.
“We have to make sure that nobody is in any doubt about exactly what is required from them.
“We are not happy with the situation we find ourselves in because we believe we are a better side than that.”
